Let's face it: if you don't have the high-powered system to run The Sims 3, your settings are going to make things look like pudding. Let's see...I'm running this laptop (which is not the ideal system to run The Sims 3.
What is it? It's an HP Laptop running on a AMD processor with an R5 (integrated) graphics chip, which means I'm beating the ever loving crap out of my processor every time I play The Sims 3. If my processor could have emotions, it'd be crying in abject pain right now.
My graphics look like this.
And my graphics settings look like this...at the moment.
So what does this mean in the long-run. Only that I'm beating up my CPU and graphics chip and that I'll eventually have to save up for a top-of-the-line gaming system (think double duty with photography/video editing duties) to run The Sims 3. Buying a system that you can get for cheap over at the local big box store may be great for word processing and light duties like simple photographic editing of family photos, but if you're going to go intensely into playing games or are editing photos/videos professionally; it's time to upgrade your expectations and get yourself a dedicated gaming/editing rig.
