Part of Rebooting The Mushroom Cloud Chronicles is the Prep-Work.

Yep, I really stepped in it this time...

Admiral James Pointer, USN, had to have a lot of work done to his uniform. Considering the fact that he is Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, he had to have the requisite ID badge.

AJ Chegwidden was directly from the TV Show and just a quick little change of the JAG emblem to a more realistic textured sleeve device and he was good to go, except that his stripes decided to give me a royal pain in the ass.

Toshio Nakamura required a brand new Command-At-Sea pin underneath his rack of ribbons and a change from the Sims diamond to a USN line-officer star.

Rebooting "The Mushroom Cloud Chronicles"

What the Hell did I get myself into?!

I also have to make the alteration to the sleeves...

The plumbob is not going to cut it for this story.

...so again, I ask myself: "Why do I do this to myself?"

I found a Washington DC that patisgreat has created.

Bunker Build 2 (Part 3)

I have a Stryker and a HMMWV (High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle) "Humvee" guarding the bunker outside...The Stryker and HMMWV will be moved inside before the "bombs" fall.

I started off with 1 AH-64D Longbow Apache, 1 MV-22 Osprey and three M1A1 Abrams Tanks on the roof,

They looked pretty good there...I thought to myself "Oh...looks pretty darned good if I say so myself...

...then realized that "Well...shit...I can't get the tanks off the roof." So...well, I put the tanks in "test" sims' household inventory and shoved them in the motor-pool.

So ultimately I ended up with three AH-64Ds and two MV-22s on the roof.

So this is the lowest part of the bunker (which I still haven't finished off yet...but am going to try to do over the next few days - when I'm not busy with RL things) which is the airlocked clean area of the bunker...the place where all the sims go when the air-raid sirens start going off. It has a positive-pressure section (humor me...I know we don't have all that in the sims...but...hey...) where the sims can stay until they make sure that the upper area has retained its structural integrity. The airlocks provide decontamination showers, and UV-lighting to kill off any bugs or germs and the corridor leading from the main entrance also has intense UV lighting and a shower at the entrance.

I put some SAM (Surface to Air Missiles) launchers on the roof and on top of the Elevator structure and added a set of stairs leading up to the SAM site. And there's a look on the roof at human eye level...roughly.

Had my test-sim walk around on the roof to check out routing.

Before I put the armored vehicles in...you could see a clear space to the door leading to the entry corridor, and there's also another door for the armory also located in the motor-pool.

Of course the sims have to have recreation even in the midst of a war...so well...

Marcel took a wander around the roof and enjoyed looking at all the military stuff including inspecting the attack helicopter.

So...that's what I've done so far with the build.

If Canada bought Apaches...and other stuff

,,,and size-questions regarding the MV-22 Osprey. The phrase from Star Wars "You're a bit short for a stormtroope..." comes to mind. But make no mistake...it's an awesome looking MV-22 Osprey and hats off to CapitalSims for creating it. It's understandable since we only get a 64x64 lot to work with and if you put a full size MV-22 Osprey, you're only going to be able to fit three or (if you squeeze four onto a lot.

Note the size difference. I might get the resize mod and make the MV-22A Osprey bigger than it currently is before I place the final product.
The A-10C Thunderbolt II (Warthog) is to size, however, the problem here is that the aircraft was rendered wheels-up. IF the wheels were down and rendered as such, the plane would be standing taller than the sim. Make NO mistake...I love the work that CapitalSims did on the military stuff that is available for download. I just wish that there was more of it around for those of us of the "other gender" who play with Sims. I wish development would start on TS5 but well, I want to be certain that EA is going to do it justice and bring back open world. For heavens sakes, EA, if you do a Sims 5 and bring back open world give us the option of choosing our own size lots.

What a Face!

Bunker Build 2 (Part 2)

No, I wasn't kidding about the helicopter landing pad on the roof of the bunker. It's big enough that it could potentially land a UH-60 Blackhawk or the SH-60 Seahawk (same difference, one's Army, one's Navy)...if I get good enough with Blender to render a SH-60 Seahawk for my Sims game.

Here's a closer look at the garden and the lake...as well as the farm-animals that are also in the bunker. At least whoever is in the bunker won't end up without eggs or milk (to turn into cheese).

This is the recreation floor; games and hockey rink as well as a soccer (football for you Europeans) pitch.

The rack of vending machines (yep...as deadly as ever...and there's six of 'em).

Third floor is the quarters for all those who are living in the bunker. And another view of the second floor. (first floor is the main entrance; garden and pond)

Here's the main floor in detail... Large pond with lake rare and uncommon as well as ocean rare and uncommon and deathfish spawners

Will get some more shots of the third and fourth floors tomorrow when I finish it off.
