What I Miss Most; and What I Haven't Been Able to Do Since Oct. 2016

Two words: Severe Pneumonia; ended up in the hospital in October of 2016. It has taken almost two years, after being hit with fluoroquinolones to kill off the infection, to be able to get back to 65% health and I still have a long way to go. I remember when it was easy to pick myself up and head out to the park or somewhere into nature and be able to shoot photography. I miss it; I really do. And the frustrating part of it is that I'm nowhere near stable on my feet (balance-wise) to be able to negotiate a rocky trail like I used to be able to. Fluoroquinolones attack the central nervous system and causes muscle damage which is what I believe led me to the situation that I'm in right now. But to tell you the truth; when the doctor told me that I'd either need to take the drug or end up "on a slab", that was the choice I had. And I'd rather be like I am now...than dead.

Playing Sims is what's saved my sanity so far and what's kept me from falling into utter despair from not being able to continue my photography career at this time. It's taken my mind off what I pine to do; which is pick up my camera and get out and shoot - mainly because I need to be much steadier on my feet when outdoors. I don't need to risk a fall; one that could leave me more incapacitated than I already am.

But yes, I long for the day that I can get back to what it is that I do; for the love of photography and that's what keeps me going day by day.

Right now, all I can do is edit past pictures I've taken and improve my post-processing skills and hope that I can get out there...one day.

Sims 3 on a A10-7800 3.5GHz with R7 Integrated Graphics.

Star Wars The Old Republic.

Yeah, I do play that...I just need to reinstall it and play it on my Nikkei_Simmer account.
Yeah, he's not a nice guy.

Sims Addiction though can't Replace the Thrill of a Good Shot.

God, I missed being able to access my shots.

Just so you know, this is what happens when Nikkei_Simmer has to deal with rebuilding his game from scratch for the third time in six weeks.

Is there a 12-step?

My A10-7800 is a Time Capsule...

When my computer went down in 2017...I ended up having to play Sims 3 on the laptop. Well...frankly it did the job until I found out why my computer was making that horrendous noise. The CPU fan unseated...probably when I fell bringing the computer in the house in mid-2016. I tried to cushion it but it didn't do so well. Now it seems to be silent and working.

I'm glad that it's functioning so I'm porting everything over to the desktop. I may go to the point of making my laptop's hard-drive (it's a 1TB so I'll essentially double my storage capacity) a secondary drive in the desktop once I get a new case. There's a lot of work to do as far as my case is concerned; for starter's - it's too small.

But the little treasure trove (or not so treasure) of my early days in Sims 3, a few folders of screen captures before I went nutso and started doing my old photography style of capturing screencaps.

All of these characters have been lost to time...and the fact that most of my game-saves got deleted...and well, I use mods and CC now.

Well...got my Desktop back.

Oh, yes, Happy Day. I'm also running off a 34" RCA TV as a monitor which despite the drop in resolution. The fact that I'm able to see everything kicks ass.

I do need to get a graphics card on my computer, but that's going to require an upgrade on my power-supply and the addition of a heavy duty CPU cooler.

Create-A-Pattern Error

Edit: Finally got the damned thing to work with a .png file. Importing these two patterns today.

#1 - USMC Marpat - for all the Marines in my Mushroom Cloud Chronicles story and #2 - Navy Type III Digital Camoflage for the Navy personnel.
