Sudden Jump in FPS at startup on Sims 3 = Instantaneous Panic Mode

One of the perils of playing Sims 3 on a 2.2GHz machine with an integrated graphics chip - highly NOT recommended.

You end up with a graphics fps rate that is nothing to write home to Mom about: between 7-18fps at the most and 23 in bursts. Since Sims 3 is capped at 60fps...anything more than that can potentially burn out the CPU as well as the graphics chip.

Alexander.Chubaty's Sims 3 Concert Grand

I love Alexander.Chubaty's Concewrt Grand piano mesh at Mod the Sims. It was a piano that i've been looking for. Now if someone could just mesh a harpsichord for me, that would be great.

Building for Maximum Flexibility

I want to be able to plop this legacy house with minimal editing anywhere on any world with a 60x60 or 64x64 lot. I don't want to have to build yet another house. For maximum portability and for flexible use, I only want to use the base game and Nightlife (for the pianos) as far as the house is concerned. So what I am going to probably have to do is take my house into Moonlit falls which has the 64x64 legacy lot or a lot in Appaloosa Plains and edit it so that it will fit the larger lot. It was originally built in Sunset Valley and was designed on a 60x60 lot. Hopefully I can make this house be functional with just the items from Sim 3 base game and Nightlife EP so that I don't have to throw in any other EPs into the mix other than the intensive EPs Supernatural or Pets (each will be played separately.

Reasoning for doing this: My old dinosaur of a computer isn't up to handling ALL the packs at once and money doesn't grow on trees unlike in the Sims 3 game.

The Real Simmers - House # 3

Well, they finally did it. They made it into the house of their dreams. After finding out that they had a tiberium goldmine on their lot, they found out that there were tiberium rocks popping up all over the stinking place, so they built a fence around the lot to keep Gus Hart and Jack Bunch and others from stealing off with their treasure. And now they have just about enough money to build the house of their dreams. But will it nearly bankrupt them?

Whittled Down Mods Folder

Hopefully this will allow the game to run without hiccups. I got rid of the darned Custom Careers and kicked them to the curb. Then I went in and eliminated ANY CC that I wasn't using and I'm going to add them to a flexible swap-in folder that I can put in at load. when I need it. So I'm only playing with the bare minimum and hopefully this will allow the game to load without stuttering and lag.

Wow...That's Gotta Hurt.

Opened up my game today and the first profile picture that I saw for my The Real Simmers game was this one:

I have a habit of derailing threads.

I love this sign. Would love to make this in TSW. :D

Favorite Site for Sims Snarkiness and Critique - The Mare's Nest.

I'm pleased to have made the hallowed literary halls of The Mare's Nest. Some of...ok...well most of her comments/critiques are just great.

I agree that Aidann (hey...I was just looking for an name that started with "A" and I suck at naming characters). Go figure. And yeah...taking a look at Aidann's back...yeah...he does look rather crumpled. Yeah sliders completely to the right for muscles.

I thought the big fountain in the front driveway would be aesthetically pleasing however...taking a closer look at it. Well; probably not a great idea. And I'd appreciate a job in British city-planning, however with my lack of completing post-secondary school and obtaining a degree; might prove to be a problem.

I appreciate a good roast. But for the record, I have testicles and a dong, so my descriptive pronoun would actually be "he/his" versus she/her. Unfortunately with my testosterone level I wouldn't make a very good woman, (looks or otherwise).

CC Addiction - Not Yet.

Some people who play Sims 3 have been known to download 40GBs of Custom Content. However I don't think I'm there yet. But if I get to 40GB or more, I probably will need an Intervention.

My Sims 3 Apocalypse Bunker Build - Pt. I

This is the bunker that I came up with, that I am currently working on. It's four stories into the ground with a foundation and a bunker entrance which allows my Sims to go in and not have to worry about contaminating the entire bunker.

The first floor is above ground is a reinforced concrete structure that will withstand a 1.2MT blast detonated above the city center and serves as the entrance to the underground bunker. Reinforced with cross-beams. it is designed to withstand and four ninety degree turns in its winding path to the interior entrance door, it will prevent radiation from getting into the bunker since the walls are lined with lead.the foundation is six feet thick and encapsulates an underground lake which will be stocked with fish that the bunker occupants can fish for and a green area which will allow the planting of a garden underneath the ceiling of the bunker. Also the greenery will recycle carbon dioxide and provide fresh oxygen.

The first bunker level underground, is at the foot of the stairs, and has a decontamination area with four showers which must be used before occupants are allowed into the common bunker area and it must be done every single time that the bunker occupants go to fish or garden as a precaution just in case there is a leak in the roof. After the decontamination is done, the Sims will walk through the two "hermetically-sealed" doors. I'm going to put in regular steel doors right now, but I will replace them with the doors in ITF. I wish there was a way of getting the doors that the Good Citizen's Warehouse has - those would be the perfect doors.

There is a secondary stair inside the common area of the bunker to completely block off the rest of the of the bunker from direct contact to the outside and I will be trying to figure out the layout for each floor.

Bunker underground level 2 only has the stairs as does Level 3.

Bunker Underground Level 4 has another decontamination unit because it's the lowest part of the bunker and to make absolutely certain that they are not dragging contaminants into the lower level, they shower again. I'll show all layouts in Part II, once I am done outfitting the entire bunker.
