One of the things which happens when you start downloading massive amounts of CC (Custom Content) is that your downloads and mods folder gets to the point where you don't have ANY F*NG clue as to where or what CC and mods you have. To tell you the truth, I looked at my Sims 3 mods folder and threw up my hands in frustration. I very soon thereafter threw everything out of my mods folder and started to figure out a way of trying to organize the mess that my poor game was trying to make heads or tails out of. Not to mention the fact that I still have to figure out reinstalling all the CC worlds in Sims3packs that i used to have and are now floating around in the ether waiting for me to figure out when I'm going to reinstall them. In between all that mess is trying to find a new place to live and packing so this is going to be pretty disjointed, but I need to play Sims3 to keep my sanity.
Yes, I'm making multiple subfolders. And the best way to do this, is to go to Wiki - Game Help TS3 - Organizing Custom Content It's a good solid bit of informjation instructing you on how to deal with setting up the folders and subfolders in your Mods folder so that you can organize your CC into some sort of order which won't have you tearing out your hair in frustration, trust me, you don't want to do that.
If you are wondering where my resource.cfg file is in that mess...it's there...see?
Yes, I did it this big because if I don't, then my text goes all over the place in my folder and I'm not about to mess around with HTML trying to figure out what's the best code to use so that my text positioning doesn't f* up. Sorry.
I've got NRAAS and CMARNYC on the first level, so that the processor doesn't have to look through four levels of folders looking for the script mods. As well as the mod that "should not be named...OK, yes, I know...I'm a pervert. The only thing that I can hope is that this organization of my CC is able to make it so that I can find the stuff easier.
With the majority of my downloadable CC being male and female hairs as well as skins and eyes, I decided to divide them up into male and female subfolderss to make the hairs easier to differentiate by gender.
I'm sure I'll be adding more folders to this tier as I branch out into more CAS CC.
I'll let you see what the finished product looks like when I'm done organizing.
