Drive Myself Crazy with Another House Build

This time a house with a wok kitchen...Happy happy...friggin' joy. Can anybody tell me why I do this to myself every so often? I guess I just get bored of the houses that my sims keep living in or functionality-wise; it doesn't work out. So I would much rather knock down the house and build them something that works for them as well as something esthetically pleasing. But of course, I want to build four storeys down and make use of as much squares as I can of the property...yet leave enough on the main property so that I can put a nice lake where my sims can fish from. And maybe next door, I should put an Asian style park instead of a pool. The last house was a wash.

Of course I've put my sims in Riverview which makes this kind of hard because sometimes the lots don't snap to the road the way I want them to.
