Rarely Go Into the TS4 Section of the Forums

The Glitterturd Aficionados just irritate the fuck out of me.

We had a great open world in TS3, even though it was poorly executed and coded to the point where freezing and crashes were constant.  Whether it was time allotted by EA, I have no idea, but unfortunately, it got to the point where those who didn't have the patience to keep the game running kept slagging the game and of course, when anyone with influence states an opinion even if it comes out of their ass, the whole herd will keep jumping on that.  Even when NRAAS came out the slag-mites kept at it.  We've heard the gamut of excuses: oh, it's too hard to keep running.  It keeps freezing on me, I don't like the crashes...blah blah blah...  No...it just means that you're too fucking lazy to do what it takes to keep playing the game.

Then, of course, they slag the esthetics of the game with the "Sims 3 sims are ugly" or its asinine corollary, "You can't make unique sims with Sims 3". Well...folks...that's what the sliders are there for.  If you can't be bothered to learn to use the sliders to its fullest extent, then don't bother complaining.

The upshot of all this is that they're happy with lazy game packs (toss us a bone once in a blue moon and we'll be happy), shoddy programming of expansion packs - every time that they get one it's a matter of time before something breaks something else in the game; and the gratuitous pats on the developers back for being fucking lazy and just doing everything half-ass.

They could have created an even better open world, with sims that didn't look like the latest incarnation of the Fisher-Price catalog if they'd put some effort into the production of the game, but it's all about the "less time that we put in on coding and effort in bringing out a viable product" the more time we have to goof the fuck off.  And the TS4 zombies are giving them a viable excuse to keep continuing to be lazy, while they give the finger to those of us who expect quality in a game that we outlay cash for.  "Oh please, give us some more half-baked deco items and shitty quality, we'll happily pay good money for it." Sorry, but that doesn't wash with me.  I expect quality from any game that I outlay my hard-earned cash for and if the game esthetics do not mesh with what I want, then I stay away from the game.

And of course the stockholders are the ones that are greedy for more and more profits while the quality of the game goes into the shitter.  Well, you reap what you sow.  And I wonder if this is the end of the Sims franchise because it'll be a cold day in hell before I lay out money for Sims 4.   And no amount of hand-wringing by the developers or threats of "There won't be a Sims 5 if you don't buy Sims 4" is going to make me back down from my position.  You made your bed, devs, now sleep in it.

EA had a good thing with TS3 and should have continued to build upon it with better 64 bit coding; refined the game with new content and to build upon the sandbox legacy of the preceding games that came before it.  Instead they put profits before quality and pretty much tossed the whole franchise into the toilet.
